At Roots, our Doctors of Physical Therapy have extensive specialty training and experience in the areas of pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic health for ALL genders, orthopedics, complex musculoskeletal conditions, neck and back pain, hip, knee, shoulder pain, foot/ankle impairments, chronic pain, functional dry needling, women’s health, men’s health, trans health, pregnancy and postpartum conditions, balance and vestibular dysfunction and management of concussions. Our focus is on exceptional quality PT services that are individualized, one-on-one and hands-on. Our therapists combine decades of experience and knowledge of modern evidence-based practice and yoga principles, including mindfulness, meditation and asana to provide care that is as unique as each client we see. Plans of care are custom tailored to each person’s specific needs. We value education as a key component to care; Our goal is that our clients are knowledgeable and capable of managing their conditions once they’ve recovered from injury.

All services at Roots are covered under your Out-of-Network Benefits.  As an OON provider, we do not bill insurance companies directly. We provide you with a superbill that you’re welcome to submit, if you choose, to your insurer for possible reimbursement.   

Yes! You can use HSA funds and Flex Spending funds on all services at Roots. We also accept cash, credit cards, and personal checks.

Nestled under Fitness, Wellness + Performance are our BodyWorks Sessions. These are 60-minute hands-on sessions using a combination of manual therapy techniques– which may include massage, mobilizations, manipulations, stretching, therapeutic cupping and functional dry needling — to improve your mobility, decrease general aches and pains, and for regular health and mobility maintenance.

Yoga

Absolutely. Yoga is a practice, and those who aren’t flexible or believe they can’t do yoga are the ones who need it most! Improving your flexibility, strength, endurance, posture and decreasing stress and anxiety are all wonderful reasons to practice   yoga.

Roots Yoga Memberships offer the opportunity to practice unlimited yoga + movement classes at Roots for one monthly rate. Members get 1 guest pass each month and a Roots T-shirt upon signing up. Join anytime, cancel anytime with no minimum commitment. Roots Yoga Membership is 149 –make that 139 for students + seniors! Bring your yoga mat, water, and any props that you like to use!
It’s always 75 and sunny at Roots! A good rule of thumb is to wear something you can comfortably move in. 

 

All classes at Roots are accessible and enjoyable for true beginners all the way through experienced yoga students.  You’ll have the opportunity to let us know that you’re a beginner and share anything you’d like on your intake form. Feel free to ask lots of questions and tell your teacher you are a beginner – we’ll make sure you’re comfortable.

 

There are endless benefits to practicing yoga! Some benefits include increased strength, increased mobility, increased flexibility, improved balance, increased general feeling of wellbeing, decreased stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression,, decreased tension in the body, lowers blood pressure and last but not least, improved sleep! 

 

 

Most studies show the physical, mental and emotional benefits of yoga can be seen in as little as 1 class each week. The more you practice, the greater your results might be. At Roots, we offer 16+ classes each week. You’re welcome to drop in, to purchase a class passes or an unlimited Roots yoga membership.

 

 

 

We would not recommend a Thanksgiving sized meal before a class. Of course, if you are hungry and cannot wait to eat till after class a satisfying snack is completely ok and encouraged!

 

Clearance from a medical professional is highly recommended if you have a medical condition and want to start movement practice. Also, finding the right type of yoga class and instructor is important. Tell your instructor what is going on and ask lots of questions.

Yes! Most pregnant people can participate in all Roots classes during all stages of pregnancy.  Please discuss with your provider before starting any new movement practice.  Yoga is a wonderful way to move your body, to relax your mind, and to foster a connection between you and your growing baby. Along with decreasing stress and increasing relaxation, it also helps ease some of the discomforts that come along with pregnancy.
